Exclamation Lift???

I have a 2006 Dakota and i am trying to find a lift for it. so far i have found some but i have run into a problem. They are all for auto transmissions. And i have the 4.7 with a 6speed manual transmission. Any ideas?

You must be looking at body lifts. With the 6 speed the biggest you will find is a 2 inch leveling kit and some blocks for the rear.

These are suspension mods, not body lifts by the way. There is no body lift offered for 3rd gen manual dakotas.

Yes. The auto works on a cable that actuates the gear in the trans. Whereas the manual has a direct link to the trans. I would think it would work with a longer shifter, but that is just a guess.

it may work with a longer shifter, but would probably require modification to the floor around the shifter, being another 3 inches higher, the stick will have a lot more throw and probably not fit in the original hole, may also require some custom bends in the stick, and the only other difference would be the master/slave cylinder system and weather or not it has enough room to streach another 3in

Actually, the stick will work, it is the clutch that doesn't (I know this because my little brother and I tore apart his 6-speed last week to see what doesn't work with a BL). Short of modifying some hard lines and bastardizing mounting brackets the clutch does not work properly. The flooring around the shifter needs to be hammered out too from what we could tell but it isn't THAT big of a deal. Unless of course there are supports that we couldn't see.

So is there any way to get a suspension lift? I have herd something about someone putting 1500 Ram suspension on a Dakota but i dont know how complicated that would be.

There has been a couple one-offs done, nothing set out for production which sucks. A lift can be done, just no one wants to produce it for some reason!

just a thought...does anyone make a short throw shifter? if so that might save someone from destroying their floor, then just figure out the clutch system and you got it.
