Default Custom Sub Box

I found the custom sub enclosure measurements on another post:

Top depth 3.5inchs
Bottom Depth 7.75inches
width 13 inches
height 13.75 inches.

So I'm wondering what the best sub (hard hitting) would be to put in there?
Does it have to be shallow? I know a 10". I saw someone else with this box had a Alpine SWS-1043D. Is this a good choice?

Thanks, Kyle

I have 10'' pioneer shallow mount

I have a Boss CX1100M amp. This amp is ok working with the stock headunit. If you want to get the full power out of the sub you will need to replace the headunit and get a little better amp. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...s+CX1100M.html

I also bought the dynomat to go around the stock speakers. It made them sound a little better but the stock speakers suck. So I will be replacing the headunit first then i will be getting a nice set of 2 or 3 way speakers.

The sub and amp comb I hit pretty hard.

That's about the right size, mine is a little bit wider around 16-17" and sits behind the passanger rear seat. Shallow 10" Kicker Sub.
Sound is really good for a shallow 10" in are trucks!
Complete Clarion Setup minus the Kicker Sub. I recommend tweeters on the A pillers too! I have pics of mine on page 4 (CarDomain)

I wonder if using the dynomat on the back wall of the cab behind the sub would help at all?

Thanks everyone. Is the SWE-1043 (Type E) and different from the SWS-1043D (Type S)? Also, what speakers are y'all running?

I have a Polk MM 1040 10". It is their shallow mount sub. Very good product. I have the DB series component set in front, and coaxials in the back. Not bad, although I wish I would have done the MM line instead.

I use the Type S. I haven't tried any other brand, but I really love my setup. Puts out PLENTY of bass and it's not overkill either.
