Default Rust Proofing.

I did a search and couldn't find anything, so sorry if this has been discussed already.

I can get mine done for $150 but I can't tell if it is even worth it or not. I'm told the way vehicles are made these days makes it almost obsolete, but my 05 Dakota shows signs of being rustproofed in the past.

Anyone do it yearly? Or not, and suffered consequences?

Thanks guys.

from what i have read, the Dakota's are meant to rust a little bit and the surface rust is all that should happen over time. I also know that by rustproofing the carraige will void the warranty (for the carraige), per my owners manual.

With that being said...I don't have to worry much about that living here in sunny phx AZ. with 3 inches of rain a year and zero snow....my driveshaft is still rusted. it seems that this just done on purpose.

What parts of town? I'm actually going to be braving the cold of Minnesota this next week! The high temp is 9 degrees on the day I arrive. For a native Phoenician....that's a bit chilly for me!
