I wrote to the guy selling this item and all I got back "It takes the air brought in, turns it into a tornado, and rams the air into the intake manifold, creating more power. Best way I can describe it. Thanks"

Seems a little querky to me...

I agree. I've known a few guys that used them on Jeeps, 4.0. No performance gain at all. I've heard they are somewhat usefull on carbuerated motors, but not fuel injected.
