I'm curious if anyone has SUCCESSFULLY painted their stock chrome grille on a 3rd gen Dak.

Do not use Duplicolor Metalcast! I prepped it exactly as recommended by Duplicolor's hotline and it's chipping off at an ever increasing rate after only a few months. Ah well I knew that was a possibility before I started... it did look cool for a bit though:

Yes. Just make sure it's prepped right. I had one for my 05 painted black at a friend's body shop. When my truck got scrapped over a year later it still looked like brand new and I've never heard a complaint from the member I sold it to so I assume it's still going strong. It's all in the prep.

 

yea i prepped mine and painted it with duplicolor truck bed coating

 

Look at my sig... it was easy. Primer and black spraypaints. After a good sand.
