Good deal. Not as soft a ride as a Caddy, you will be glad you got 'em.

Sure would have been cool for you to indicate whether you ended up liking the Ranchos or not. I'm sort of assuming that you were not impressed with them since you didn't update the thread.

Everyone liked their ranchos over stock. Its all over the 3rd gen forums, even if not in this thread. They are stiffer than stock and stiffer than Monroes. Only complaint I heard was they get rusty pits through the white paint early on.

Monroes on the other hand, while better than stock. One person had one blow on them. And me personally, I don't like them because they ride like a boat still. But many others have no complaints.

And who knows about kyb brand struts.... No one runs them.

I've said it numerous times, installing Ranchos all around is still the best money that I've spent on my truck. 3 years and I'm extremely happy with them.

Some swear by KYB, but I've heard nothing but "cheapo" type stories about them.

My take was KYB was just like oem, Monroes a step above and Ranchos a step above that in terms of "firmness". I'm an old fart so I preferred the Monroes.

Default Thanks

I must not have email notification set in my profile.
Thanks everybody for the shock reviews. I was at autozone today getting a replacement combination turn signal relay and decided to see what they had in stock in the way of shocks. I ended up buying a pair of rear Gabriel Ultra Shocks. Their relatively inexpensive, so I am not expecting any great reviews. I haven't driven the truck enough to know whether I like them or not, but so far I don't notice much difference.

Just don't skimp when you do the front ones.
