Question Wanting to buy: 2006 Quad Cab R/T

Newbie here:

My bank has picked up a 2006 Dakota Quad Cab R/T, Black, 47,500 miles. Clean as it can be.

Asking $13,800, but said will take $11,000 for it because it's been there for 2 months & they want it gone. They are not a car lot. If it doesn't get bought this month, they are just going to take it to an auction.

My question to you guys & gals. Is it worth it? What things should I worry about with this model? What things should I look for to be wrong?

Thanks in Advance for the advice...

Great price. I paid a few thousand more for mine last year. Jump on it man, then fix it up and post pics!

But that can be fixed w/ better shocks?

I've looked it up on the KBB , and Private party sale price is $13,970. Trade In value is $10,625. So, if I can get it from them in the range of $11K, I think I'm doing OK...

V6 or V8?

4x4?

Colour? lol

For the most part I would say go for it too. I paid $14,000 for my 05 Quad Cab with 97,000 kms. SO from where I am yours would be a steal.

They are pigs on gas though. Take that into consideration. If you want to spend $100 a week on gas.

well the RT would be v8...

and what kind of driving do you do that requires 100/wk in fuel????

When I was driving my truck, at the MOST, I would spend 20 bucks a week on fuel!

100 bucks now... would be almost two tankfuls...

I wanna know where you drive that much in one week?

That would be 800 miles a week for me...

I put 120k miles on my '02 Dak in three years. That's avg. 800 miles/week. Now I do it to a Town & Country and my '05 Dak is a weekend ride. It has only 30k miles.

Yes, Monroe and Rancho both have offerings out for our trucks. Unfortunately if you want other options you'll be out of luck for the front, at least for now.
