Default grille removal

Any trick to popping the stock grille out? The single hooks are easy with a screw driver, but I seem to be boogering up the plastic on the ones that hook on both sides.

Maybe I should wait until it is warmer out, the plastic doesn't seem to give much right now..

I removed the inserts in the fall, and they are a bit aggravating when the plastic is pliable. You might have the right idea letting them warm up. Why not just bring the grill inside for a couple hours? It's not too bad when your hands aren't freezing.

Bring it inside and let it warm up, will make your life much easier.

I didn't think about removing the entire thing, I guess those bolts at the top release it all? I'll go take a look here in a bit..

If you look behind it there's a steel tube attached to the hood that the grill mounts to. Just take out all the screws holding the grill to it and it comes right off, it's pretty quick to do.

So did you just not have a flathead screwdriver handy, or was the butter knife beneficial somehow?

I used a flathead and my fingers when removing the actual inserts, just don't reef on it and you won't break anything.

Yeah I was watching TruckU the other day and they gave the tip of using 2 spoons to get it from both sides and pry upwards so you dont break anything. Havent tried it yet, but seems logical.
