Question Did I get taken?????

I have an 07 Dakota 2wd 3.7 bought new. I was having trouble with the tranny not shifting righ so I took it to the dealer. They said the trans needed a software update for $114 so I hade them do it. Yes it does shift smoother and less often. Has anyone else had this issue??

Hmm, when I had mine in for warranty work awhile back my dealer told me there was an update available for the TCM and they flashed it for me. If it's the same thing it seems rather crappy of your dealer to charge you for it...

Very crappy of the dealer! Especially because no real labor was done. If this was the dealership you bought it from, you probably should have asked to speak with a manger or something. My wife's aunt will complain about anything that wasn't done perfectly, we usually eat for free when we go out with them. That is what pisses me off about retail, is the a$$hole gets the best deal. If you get loud in a public store, many times they will cave in to shut you up.

But on the other hand, $114 dollars to fix a transmission problem is pretty cheap.
