Default Woodgrain bezel swap??????

Hi

I'm new to the forum, just purchased an 05 SLT Dakota quad cab. I am in the process of slowly making it my own. I want to swap the ugly woodgrain bezel for a silver one that usually resides I believe, in the laramie trim models. I thought I would have zero problem finding one on the web these days but I am having no luck. I thought I could just buy a new one from one of the many OEM dealers online but all I find is the kakhi and slate grey. So Im not even sure how an owner with a silver or woodgrain bezel would replace theirs since they are not in the OEM lists. So, can someone help me out on my quest for the silver bezel? And I have no interest in the many glue on trim sets out there.

Thanks

First off, welcome to DF!! Better get your camera out, everyone will be demanding pics of the truck soon.

If you can get the VIN number off a dakota that came with the silver bezel the dealer should be able to pull up the part number. Their parts lookup system is damn near useless without a VIN unfortunately.

Welcome aboard! Just like you are researching to do, I replaced the horrible wood with an aluminum bezel, lol. I bought mine off ebay motors. Good luck with the parts search.

I found the original thread
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...placement.html
from my search for a good bezel, late in 2008. But the one listed in there is the carbon fiber type of bezel. I was looking for the satin paint one.

I, like JAB02LHS, think that you can get it from moparpartsamerica.com but I have a different part number than he does. I'm looking at the receipt for mine and it says it's part # 5KR97XZ2AA. The description says "Bezel - Inst, SP". I think the SP is for satin paint, but I'm not sure.
Also, the part number is listed 4 times on the outside of the box, so I'm sure that's what it is. It's exactly what I was looking for.

By the way, the invoice on the shipping label is from Bob Lanphere's Beaverton Chrysler & Dodge in Portland, and Beaverton, OR.
They can be contacted at beavertondodge.com, or 503-292-3545.
The same invoice is also stamped by moparpartsamerica.com so it's probably the dealer doing some eBay business.

Why do I have the box, after a year? I put the 100% mint wood-grain bezel in the box to sell it, but still haven't sold it.

Here's what mine looks like:

Hey man, I think your bezel looks great! A lot better than the wood grain one I have in mine. Any other options you've seen along with satin silver? I like the way yours looks, but I alway like to see what all of my options are. Know what I mean? Thanks

Thanks for all the great info guys!!! mopar parts america lists the carbon fiber for $214 (forget that). 5KR97XZ2AA is listed for $113 and 5KF61XZAAB for $131. I wonder what the difference is? I wonder if one is satin and one is gloss, my woodgrain Griswald station wagon bezel is gloss.
