I would think the white reflector would be a bigger issue?

Depends on the state, but I see clear corners on lots of other cars and no one gives them any scuff. Pretty much anything that's driving on the base in Nebraska is legal because Security Forces would stop them if it wasn't.
As far as install...I've taken off my headlights before it wasn't that hard? But I don't have a brush guard neither

Not sure about NJ law. It does depend on the state.

Don't forget to pick up some silverstar turn signal bulbs to avoid the fried egg look. I had them in mine, but the orange reflector still show through into the turn signal area so it didn't help much.

I have the little yellow reflector on my stocks, but my lights are white until I flip the blinker on then it goes yellew. I have to have the yellow reflector to be legal here.

The white reflectors might be fine, I did a (very) quick search on NJ vehicle equipment and didn't see anything.

Yes, the silverstars are a bit blue. I have heard of some true chrome ones, but that they are pretty dim. I'm actually running amber 4157 which blink a bit brighter than 3157.
