Yeah, front would have spun if 4x4 was properly engaged.

I have a new set of Cooper Zeon LTZ LT265/70/17. They are pretty bitchin.

My '94 Dak CC w/cap 2wd no posi was great in the snow with out anything else back there. But the truck sat level for better weight dist.

My '06 CC w/flip a lid 2wd and posi was terrible last year, but the truck is higher in the back so all the weight is forward. Also had the Original Goodyear Eagle RS on it.

I now have Goodyear Fortera's on it and 8/40# bags of topsoil in the back so it sits level. This did the trick. I added the topsoil late last winter but still had the crap tires that were still a problem.
Goodyear Fortera TripleTred.

I don't have much to compare thm too with snow, but I had Bridgestone Dueler AT REVOs put on my F150 and they were probably my favorite tire ever. Great in the snow, really impressed some people who have more snow experience than myself.

Great street manners (dry or wet), awesome on gravel roads and decent in the mud. Expensive, but worth it to me. The best thing is they didn't get torn up on any of hte gravel/rock mountain road driving i was doing. I've seen new cheapo AT tires missing several chunks after one day there.

I have Wild Country XTX (les schwab) tire on right now, courtesy of the previous owner. Havne't tried them in snow yet, but I am not very happy with their wet street performance. Anxious to replace, they will probably still have decen tread on them when replaced.

The dial was in the middle position(straight up) and the 4WD light was on. I haven't noticed any flashing. Does this mean 4WD isn't working? It sure feels like it is working when I am driving around.

when switching into f4wd on ur dash it should pop up and start flashing. u should notice when ur turn the tire sharply at a dead stop and let off the brake slowly sum jerkiness if u do ur 4wd is engaged. im really surprised on this only time ive seen this is on my buddies 4wd fourwheeler (all the time) and it has a lim slip on the front it sucks. im not sure if they did this to sum Dakotas? maybe somebody with more knowledge can help?

I absolutely notice the jerkiness on dry pavement. I have no doubt I have 4WD when driving. It is just that I didn't see all 4 wheels locked and spinning. Mine is an 08 SLT with a V8.
