Q for those who have removed fog lights on an 06+ Dakota..
Ok I need to replace the fog light on my 06 4x4. I got the 2 torx heads out, and the little tiny tabs the 'click' it into place, and I know it comes out the front. However it appears to be a bit too small of an opening.
thoughts?

well I have the light assembly loose, there were only 2 torx on mine, but I'm thinking I'm getting the idea that the bumper cover has to come off?
ahh damnit no....

yeah, I had to pull my fascia/bumper cover off to get mine off. it wasnt all that bad. plus while its off, you can take a dremel and oblong the holes in the wheel wells to tighten up the gap.
there are 2 torx bolts in each wheel well, and 2 or 3 holding it on under the grill, not that bad to pull it off. Good luck!

Dang, now I need to see how difficult it is with the brush guard on mine...
If anything, to see about making the holes oblong? Um, explain that one to me...
That and I'm gonna need some black zip ties...

I 2nd this Q.. which holes and why do we want to modify them?
on the torx are there any on the underside or any 'christmas tree' plugs anywhere?

well, heres why I did it...

the bolts in the wheel well that hold the front bumper cover on are just squeezing the fascia. if you elongate the holes on the bottom (the fascia's mounting holes), it allows you to move the bumper cover up and tighten that gap...

I have that issue on my truck as well, thanks for the tip!
Off topic a bit, How do I get my hood to come down further? (the gap between the hood and the front fenders is a bigger gap then both those above pics.)

Here's a pic of the Bumper facial removed, you can see that the fogs are easy access.
