You have that backwards. During WOT the computer is set to a default, during all other throttle positions the a/f ratio is determined and adjusted by the o2 sensors.

Oh, then I guess they had it wrong on the website link that I posted on the first page. Good to know though, and it makes sense because if it was nailed to a certain air:fuel ratio at all throttle positions except for WOT, it would run rich sometimes and not others depending on how hot or cold the temp was.

I've heard the 8-10 gain is only the fist time you drive and then the computer will adjust itself back to default before you did anything.

I have one, but I can't say I really noticed anything with it. Once I get a tuner it will most likely come off and go into the classifieds. For now, it is just signature padding.

Yeah, I definetly wont touch this one. Not worth the waste of time when Im getting the programmer. Hopefully Ill get the tuner tonight, and the truck programmed by the weekend. I think I may take the truck and park it in the dealer lot to do the tune. That way, if the PCM gets screwed up and needs reflashing, Ill just get it done right away and send the tuner back. Im a little over-cautious when it comes to things like this. I cant live without my truck for a week, and this way my dad would never know. Its a pretty cheap insurance policy, and this way I have a reason to take if for a test drive on the way home.

LOL rengnath, going to tune it in the stealership parking lot huh? I guess thats not a bad plan, but you really won't have trouble with the tune.

Glad you forgot about the power wire, but if you want to keep modding start thinking about an electric fan and upgraded lungs ( intake, TB, exhaust, and if you have the cash get the newer intake manifold)

Alright, I got the Cortex today. I updated it, and I couldnt wait for the weekend so I went ahead and programmed the truck right in the driveway. Everything went smoothly. I filled up today with 93 octane, and put it to the 91 octane tune. I havent messed with any advanced settings yet. So far, I cant tell much of a difference when flooring it, but it seems faster. It takes off so much better when just cruising down side streets though. It doesnt want to get to the next gear as fast, it actually revs up the motor a bit. Ill do some data logging during some downtime tomorrow.

The "Power Wire" thing works. Mopars have always run better in a cold or very cool atmosphere. I does no harm to use one but you will at times depending on the ambient temp. will loose a few tenths MPG. You can make one for about 3 to 5 bucks. I sold some with a Molex end and seethed to look factory for 10 bucks. If you where to purchase the Tyco factory connectors from a connection dealer and barrow a crimping tool you may get away for 20 bucks. Bottom line it does add a bit of punch for a few bucks.
