Shop-Installed E-Fan?
I want to install a E-Fan as my next mod, but doing it myself is pretty scary... I'm 16 and don't have much knowledge with engines that have electrical components. I went through that write-up on installing an E-Fan, and I just got lost. Between taking out the old fan, putting in a new one and wiring it, I'm lost. So do y'all think this is something worth having a shop do? Would a shop even do this, and if so, what kind of shop? We don't have any performance places around here.. Just a muffler shop and some 5 minute oil change places.
If you have reservations after reading the write-up, take it somewhere!
The muffler shop down the street from me will also rebuild a transmission so I'm sure they wouldn't have any trouble deleting a clutch fan. I don't know that your muffler shop is the same but it doesn't hurt to ask. If your town is small enough to not have a performance shop, then there aren't too many mechanics in the area. Break out that phone book and start asking them about what you plan to do. Being an odd job, I don't know what kind of price you will get though.. It won't be hard for the mechanic but custom jobs cost money.
Forget the 5 min oil change place.

Could your Dad, Uncles, Cousins, or even your Friends help ya out? That might be an idea too
Thanks, I'll start calling around. And as far as family, my dad drives a BMW.. So he doesn't have any car knowledge himself.. But my step dad doesn't know how to work on anything past the year '85..

honestly, if you take it in small steps, its not a big project.
Break it down into small digestible pieces.
You dont NEED a SPAL controller.
If you would like a little primer, shoot me a PM. I started installing audio when I was 16. The trick is to be confident, not scared. Shoot me a PM and I will do what I can to get you confident enough to try this install.
