Sounds like 6k is the way to go. Now I just need to place my order and figure out how to wire up the relay (and hopefully not burn my truck to the ground in the process).

Thanks!

6000K are BLUISH TINT. All you need to do is a google search on HID colr tempeture. 4300 or 5000 are the brightest PURE whites. After 5000K (including 6000K) the color and light outputs get darker and more blue all the way to purple. I'm telling you from experience.... if you get 6000K you WILL HAVE color.

That's perfect. I want just a little bit of blue when you look at it. Plain white is too boring. Like I said, I am looking for icy white, not straight white. I just didn't want to venture too far up the color range. It sounds like 6k is closest to what I want, if not slightly too far over.

Eric, is there a ground available there to tap in to? Is it just attaching a lead to a screw/bolt? I've never done wiring in a vehicle, hence my apprehension.

first of all all these different manufactures of Hids have didnt rating to color.. i bought 10k for white with a bit of blue, they are redic bright.. so who ever said color doesnt make it bright is dead wrong... they do sell those cheapo fake HID with just color those are hard to see with, those i understand.. but if you want a icy white go with 6k, silverstars dont compare to the true ballast HIDS.....

i have 6000k and love them. The install is easy and will be fine but try and mount the ballast to plastic not frame. Just used a screw and bolt on the battery should be included in the kit

I'd definitely go for the relay. I'd prefer for it to work right the first time.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), a small cash boost has appeared and now I have to choose between HIDs or a tuner. Decisions, decisions.....
