Default HID Color - Can't decide

I'm pretty sure I will be picking up a bi-xenon HID kit from our resident sponsor in the next couple weeks. The problem is I can't decide on the color I like the nice crisp white light with a little bit of a blue sparkle when looking at it. I definitely do not want anything with a definite color to it. I see too many idiots around here with blue or purple HIDs, and I think it looks stupid. I like the icy white look. It looks like it pretty much comes down to 6k or 8k. I know some of you run HIDs. Any pics of either color temp? Thoughts on which might best match what I want?

Thanks!
Nick

i think you be looking at 5k or less, anything higher will start to become blue and higher will become purple (true ratings anyway)

4300 to 5000K are true bright white (sunlight) with 5000K being the whitest and brightest. Anything over 5000K (including 6000K) will start to add color and diminish light output.

Well they say 5k is warm white.. AKA ugly yellow tinted stock color. I think you'd like the 6000k, as that's the whitest. It may have some blue, but certainly not a definative color.

6k sounds like a winner. I currently have Silverstars, which I believe are rated at 5k, and they are a little too warm for my tastes. I had some cheapo ebay bulbs for a little while that were rated at 6k which I liked, but I won't try to compare the "color" of a $4 ebay special to a set of real HID lights.

Anyone have a set of 6k HIDs in their truck and have pics of how it looks?

i found a pic on the internet with a jeep with 6k...and 6k's are the best imo. you can kinda see the blue when you are at an angle.

With 8000k it could be a little difficult to see at night. It is not as bright as 6000k, but the blue tint also isnt easy to see with.
I think I want to do a set of 6000k, but Im not sure about spending $120 on something that I havent heard much about.
