Coolant :/
So my dad has been borrowing my truck the last week and today he decided to drain the coolant and touch her up with some fresh coolant.
What he didnt realize was the fact that he added straight coolant, and did not dilute it 50/50 >:/
So now after explaining to him the reason we dont do this, i have to figure out whats the best to do. Should i completely flush the system or what?
I'm not too savy when it comes to how to do that, but i am atleast smart enough to dilute before i put it in haha. I've never done a flush myself and would rather not screw anything up. Would a quick drain and fill with fresh coolant be ok? Any help would be appreciated, thanks

I could be mistaken about this but, I was just up at a auto zone a couple weeks ago and I was asking the guy there about this mixing 50/50 and he said not every coolant has to be done this way it all depends which he put in, so you may wanna check that out first.. Cya Slick
he just used the autozone no name brand, thinking i'll probably just do a quick drain on it and fill it up with 50/50 of the autozone brand diluted properly though. It gets pretty hot in the summer here and keeping a proper mix of water to coolant is probably the best to keep the engine running cool
Also would it be ok if i just drain the remaining and just add a coolant of my choice. Is there going to be any problems with the remaining coolant in the system causing problems from it being a different type?
I would just drain the rad and refill with proper mix. It really isn't that important that it be an exact mix. One thing is true you dont want 100% anti freeze, it just doesn't work properly without some water in it. As far as summer coolant, the presurization of the radiator is what actually raises the boiling point of the water. The antifreeze does lube the water pump and extends it's life, and has anti corrosives in it.
Alright, thanks so much I'll do that first thing this morning. Also where are the spots I should open to allow the air to leave the rad when I refill it?

Also will i have to use the type that chrysler puts in, or can i just use the brand and type i prefer when i fill her up? Any known problems using a different type then chrysler originally put in
thanks blown! Running a 50/50 mix of prestone right now, noticed it warmed up alot quicker, but stayed just below half and cooled off much quicker when i turned her off. Thanks for everyones help
