hey everyone im looking to get my first cb radio, i like the cobra ones. My friend has a small one like this http://cgi.ebay.com/COBRA-19-DXIV-40...item35a75a96fe that i would like to get. is there a special antenna i need to buy for it or a wiring kit of any kind?

I like the second one a bit better. Thats what we use in our oilfield trucks. good reception, and can put up with alot of **** and abuse!

what would be the best way to run the wire to the antenna in the bed??

I would run it along the top weather striping on the door(if you want it on the roof). And if you want it in the box run it through a gromet in the fire wall and under the truck the drill a hole in the box.

I know the cobra one is a good one, but that uniden has pretty good reviews. Thx for this thread BTW, I have been meaning to pick up a new CB for my new truck and I think I may pull the trigger on one of the ones you listed!

i like the cobra but nearly $100 cheaper is tempting. i know you get what you pay for though.
