Did the 180 stat mod the other day and it was easy, I have a wierd feeling thinking I put it in backwards. Is this possible to do? Would it over heat or never get warm? The needle used to sit right below half with the 195 now its half way between the bottom line and the middle hash mark. I think this is correct. I know the spring side goes toward the engine. But can't remember what I did. I would hate to drain everything just to find out I was trippin over nothing. Help!!

 

Its possible to put it in backward, just ask Eric I think you got it right, it should show 1/4 where its at now.

 

Yeah, I did it backwards also. However, it was late winter and I fixed it in early spring when my temp needle started doing weird things.
