Default Found a good deal

On some 2009 Dodge ram wheels and tires that are P265-70R17, figured i have to take of the winter tires soon enough anyway, and figuring that these rims come with tires with great tread left, thinking it might be good to purchase and trade rims and tire set up as the seasons need.

I'm thinking they will not fit without a level kit, but not sure, any input would be appreciated

Thanks in advance!

They will rub at least some without a leveling kit and probably a bit even with one. Some minor trimming should take care of it.

My 265-70-16s rub a tiny bit even after the leveling kit, though not enough that I have bothered to take care of it.

It's a shame that we think how will tire size affect my fuel mileage. We never had to worry about that in the past!

Yes, but you could also say the same thing about using lead plates & silverware.

Mine came with 265/70R16's stock and don't even come close to rubbing at all

True tire sizes can vary quite a bit between manufacturers and models.

I didn't know the Dakota ever came with a tire that tall. Interesting.

They are on a 17 inch rim won't that cause more rubbing?

Yes, but it may still work with just minor trimming. It depends on the tire's actual dimension. All terrain tires generally seem to be a bit bigger for the same size and have more block like profiles that make it effectively bigger.

I'd probably take the gamble if they are a really good deal. You can always sell the set or just the tires, if need be. Lots of vehicles use that size tire, so they should be in demand.
