Default Rear diff picture?

Does anyone have a picture of the factory limited slip rear diff? When I had mine open I saw the carrier and spider gears, but nothing else. I just saw a picture of an open diff earlier, and made me wonder what the factory unit looks like since it looked very similar to mine. I know I spin both tires when doing a burnout, and can easily kick the rear-end around, but now it has me wondering.

Thanks,
Nick

Yeah, you can tell by the shape of the carrier like pictured in that linked thread, but also, look for the clutch packs if you pull the cover off. If you have an LSD, you need to add friction modifier in with the fluid, so if you didn't do that, and you have a LSD, you may want to add it or change the fluid alltogether.

Thanks! Crisis averted

I thought I had an LSD, and made sure to put in the right stuff. I'm glad to see I was right

Bain64, that is exactly what I saw. Thanks for sharing!

Erik, Thanks for the tip. I completely forgot about doing that.

Im at about 45k miles....never did the rear diff fluid. I had a pinion ring replaced at 30k miles, because it had a slow leak. I wonder if they changed the fluid when they did the repair? lol

Probably not, most stories I've heard of dealership service on the rear end they will drain and refill with the same fluid to save money.
