Thanks guys now I don't know if its worth it, I'm kind of a perfectionist when it comes to stuff lookin good. I don't know what I would do if I cracked that clear plastic, I couldn't live with staring at a cracked dash forever!!

That's why I used a soldering iron to melt away the bonded areas so there is no risk of it cracking.
If you were going to do it, I would find a used cluster and try getting the plastic piece off that one first. It would probably be an extra $80-$100 if you found one used, but worth it IMO if you want to be safe.
LOL... I won this whole damn instrument cluster off of ebay for 55 bucks shipped so I am taking your advise!!!
