I think the egr is in the way in the cherokees, not the dakotas so you should be safe but definitely call and ask first to double check. And you aren't going to lose any power in the lower rpms. If you have seen a dyno sheet for this engine you'll notice that the hp stops climbing around 4600-5000 rpm. One of the reasons is that the stock manifold can't get air into the engine fast enough at those speeds but the 08 manifold can. So instead of the curve dropping it will continue to climb past 5000rpm giving you your hp gain. Unless you spend a lot of time past 4500rpm i don't think you will notice much of a difference. Has anyone on here done this mod before because if they say it is a big difference I would go ahead and do the swap when i change my cams out

There is a thread open on a different forum with people talking about this swap, and claim a stronger bottom-end feel, and having it pull like mad up top. One guy mentions that he no longer feels like he's running out of power above 75mph, and it pulls right up to 110 with no issues now. Sounds like it might be worth the time and effort.

If people are saying it is stonger at the bottom end i'd say go for it...I'm all for usable power.
