Know what ya mean man, looking to get an Efan to help the 3.7 here too.. Could use a nice thread with everyone listing what setup there running, parts they purchased, where, how much. And overall how happy they where with it.
the controller and the sensor is all in one unit, that can mount right into the thermostat housing.. This magazine list different kind of controllers and so forth and you can get as complicated as you like depends on how much you wanna spend.. you can get ones that activate when the ac gets turned on or get ones that will run 5 min after the truck is turned off or a manual switch if you want or even a controller that works with your fuel injectors, dont ask me how, there is a multitude of different gadgets, but the bottom line if you ask me is you want it to turn on when it reaches a certain temp and turn off when it cools down to a certain temp..
So why buy all these extra head unit controllers when you can get it all right in this tiny unit, I haven't done all my home work yet but it seems to me to be pointing me toward this smaller unit that does the controller and the sensors job all in one.. why do you need the fan to kick on as soon as the a/c comes on ??? if you got the largest fan to fit on the radiator you should be fine and if you buy a shroud as well even better yet.. curved blades are quieter then straight and it sounds like electric fans are better pullers then they are pushers but we dont have allot of choice with that one, I am going to be calling spal and fan-man.com and seeing what they have to advise on this because a lot less daunting job of wiring if it all can be done with the simple unit and a couple relays and fuses, I posted a picture of below.. I do have one question what is the best temp so that the fan turns on I will have to try and find that out..Cya Slick
Fan Man can provide this complete SPAL relay harness and thermal fan switch kit. The thermal switch can be installed in front of the intake manifold in a water port, the side of a head or in the thermostat housing, here is a nice little compact unit to get the job done..

It may take me a bit of time yet, until I make sure I get it right this magazine helps allot.. The funny thing is I went in to see what new magzines where out and there it was a truck book talking about electric fans
hit me with a rock right on time LOL.. My thing is spend the money on a shroud instead of this extra controller that I dont think you need??? Cya Slick

there is one thing I forgot to mention and I guess this is up to the person that is putting this in there truck.. The extra controller does help vary the speed of the fan but my question is do you need it just for that still looking into it.. If you haven't read this thread you need to very good write up, this can help you make up your mind on what you need and dont need..Cya Slick
