Default Wheel Bearing Advise

Hey guys,

I am needing to replace my front wheel bearings. It looks like they are 95 from rock auto. Has anyone ever done this? Let me know if you have any tips before I get under there. Thanks.

I have not done mine, i have had them replaced twice under warranty. I am pretty sure you need to buy the entire front hub assembly since the bearing is inside the hub. I have not seen a writeup on the topic yet but it seams to be pretty straight forward. Get a good repair manual. Also do not forget the camera to do a writeup when you are done!

I replaced the driver side front bearing at about 37k mi. After the sound (humming) went away, I realized I had first noticed it several thousand miles earlier. Ha!

It's an integrated hub / bearing, non-serviceable.

$95 for the hub without an ABS sensor sounds correct.

It looks straightforward, actually, to swap. At least for 2WD. Ultimately the wheels are held on by 3 bolts :

See part #1.

I looked into DYI, but ended up just paying the shop to do it.

Holy hell... 360 is alittle steep!

I had my front left replaced under warranty as well. I blamed the tires until it got louder because I couldnt understand at 20k why the wheel bearing would go out and the fact that I hadnt heard or seen that problem. Once the sound amplified, I figured it was the wheel bearing and the dealership agreed.

I think my shop got about $300 for mine. DIY if you have the tools / time / help! I had a 500 mi trip coming up, so mine had to get done.
