Amp Install help!
hey all, I recently purchased a 2006 dodge dakota ext. cab and I decided i wanted to amplify the stock speakers. Getting to all the speakers has proven to be a little more of a challenge than i thought.. I've got the front door panels off, but Im having trouble getting the rear panels off to expose the rear speakers.
Also, I'm having trouble disconnecting the rubber wire protector that runs from the driver door to the cab. I would like to run my speaker wires through there, so any help with getting that off it appreciated.
Thanks for any input!

the "rubber wire connector" leads to a big molex connector. not really going to get wires though it, but you can track down where the wires run and splice into them.
Also, why amplify the stock speakers? they really are crap, unless you have premium sound, but in that case, they already are amplified.

The rear doors you have to take of the plastic piece near the window. it just clips out and then pull up and disconnect your PW and door handle. my stock speakers were crap. the magnet size compared to my new kenwoods was so small.
Eric, i think mine were amplified but not premium sound package? the amp im thinking of is drivers side behind/besides the rear seat.

factory head unit. For now Im just going to amplify stock speakers until I get enough funds for components, then Im just going to run a front stage set-up. As is though, just amplifying the stock speakers is a huge difference. I managed to make everything work wiring up the amp, But Im having trouble with the remote turn on wiring.
Does anyone know where i can wire in my remote wire to turn on when the ignition is turned on? I figure the HVAC would be easiest, but Im not sure how to get in there..
any help is appreciated.

power port/cig lighter...
Those delco speakers are rated at 10watts, so dont push them too hard.
you might end up needing those components quicker than anticipated.
Instead of amping the stock speakers, I would have just went with an aftermarket head unit. they put out twice the power and are actually made to process signals.
