Default clicking front end.

I have read about the front end of these popping and clunking over small bumps, what exactly is that and how can I fix it? and are there any after market better quality parts to upgrade too?

on a side note, i swung through an exhaust shop to get a quote on TRUE duals with flowmasters and they said its impossible because of the sensors are too close and they wouldn't be able to weld new pipe or relocate the sensors. I called BS because ive seen pics of true duals on this site but owell I will take it somewhere else.

thanks

how can you actually verify that it is the tie rod end that has gone bad. last thing i want to do is replace those and have to fix something else.

i personally cant verify but I have researched around and it seems to be a pretty common problem but it would seem like a good place to start and work my way from there.

I would think the howling is from wheel bearings. I didn't know ball joints could make that type of noise. But mine is more a humming based on how fast I am going.

Seriously what the hell is wrong with Dodge. Post after post on these forums about all the front end, brake, and shock problems we are having. Most of our vehicle are pretty low mileage too. I have replaced all kinds of parts in my truck and it only has 39k on it. Getting pretty sick of it, I should trade it in for a sierra or something. My little 98 S10 that I had before this had 160k on it and everything was tight and worked perfectly. I have put more money into my Dakota in the 10k miles that I have had it then I ever did to my S10 in the 70k miles that I had it. And the Dakota is much newer with lower mileage.

I second that trade in option, if I had the cash I would in a heart beat!

Where is the best place to buy new tie rods? I have noticed a slight grind/shudder/vibration (at about half turn) when turning right in my truck. Think it's the rack, tie rod, or both...???
