Default 08 Dakota Right Turn Signal Blinking too Fast?

What the heck is going on? My right turn signal blinks super fast and only sometimes. I checked the bulbs and they are both working, just at freakin light speed, it is soo annoying. Any clues? what should I check first?

Thanks,

Is your blinker fluid full, and did you tighten them with the left handed screw driver?

Yea i agree its a bad ground. I get the fast blinking on my 05 when i hook my trailer up. The connections are all corroded but I am to lazy to clean them and just deal with the blinking since I do just short trips

Default Blinker fluid?

I did check the blinker fluid and it was low so I filled it with dot 4 even though it called for dot 3 so that may be the problem. I also changed the brindling shaft and tightened all 6 Johnson rods! I will check the grounds tomorrow though.

This is also known to happen when a bulb is on its way out. Replace the blinker bulbs in the front and back on that side.

I just did an LED swap for blinkers and learned a lot about how they work while doing it. In your manual it even says when it isn't getting the correct resistance or proper ground it will blink really fast to tell you something is up. I know those bulbs are really cheap so just check the wiring where the ground is, replace the bulb, and make sure your harness is plugged in all the way and not wet or dirty or something.
