Default New bumper pics

Its done...

Yay.

Here is a picture or two. I had the old, standard ST gray bumper, it had a bit of damage due to a tiny parking lot clip. I replaced it with the SLT 2005 Bumper, which is a non-painted gray textured bumper, with the chrome strip, and fog light holes. I choose this one for its ease of installation, since it does not need to be painted. I know some people don't like the chrome strip on the bumper but I suppose I have an old mans taste, as I think it ties the bumper and grille together nicely. It looks much better then my ST bumper. That thing just looked like they never finished painting the truck or somthing. I figured since I needed to replace the bumper, might as well get a better one. The paint still looks pretty good for 4 years old. I try to wash it in high pressure touchless washes. Keeps the swirls off the paint ya know?

The fit and finish was ok. I could tell the bumper was not to original manufacturers standards, but rather close. I picked up the OEM fog lights for $14 each and mounted them, but Havn't gotten the chance to wire them yet. I just didn't want to have the holes open in the bumper. I was also able to reduce the gap between the fender/headlights and new bumper. There is still a gap but its smaller.

I like it, and the addition of fog lights on your truck is a sweet score.

Looks good....I have an ST and want to change mine over too. The dull grey wit no fog lights look boring. Where did you get it?

I got the chrome trim piece at rock auto, and the gray bumper someplace cheaper online, autopartswarehouse I think, I have to double check that.

Looks good! Idk why people are so against the chrome strip, but I like it. If I had painted bumpers, it might be different but the chrome takes away some distraction from the look of the plastic bumper, IMO.
