Towing Travel Trailer with 2008 or newer 4.7L
I recently upgraded my Tow Vehicle to a 2008 Dodge Dakota with the 4.7L engine. My current travel trailer is a R-Vision Bantam Flier F-18 with a 2612 lbs dry weight and a 3754 lbs GVWR. Now that I've upgraded to the truck I'm looking at the possibility of upgrading the trailer to a 21'-23' hybrid with a 3600 - 3700 lbs dry weight. I assume the GVWR for a trailer of this size would be getting close to 5000 lbs although a typical load for me will probably be closer to 4000 - 4200 lbs.
Most of my travels will be approximately 1 hour trips but I'd like to be able to do long hauls as well. e.g. 8 hours days for a couple days each way.
I'm curious what others with the same 2008+ 4.7L engine are pulling?

My Dak is an '05. The tow rating with tow package, 4.7l, auto,QC is 7150lbs. YOur '08 is probably the same or higher.
That tow weight is higher than I would be willing to tow. But I have towed a vehicle trailer (1700 lbs) with a 3900 lb truck on it with no issue. I have upgraded my brakes to EBC rotors, Hawk pads, SC 3865, 3.92 axle ratio, air bags in the back and a few other small things.
