Default Sway bars? What the...?

So why do these go out? And why when I have so many other plans for my truck?

Like an e-fan, driving lights and other fun things to make the truck truly mine...

Swar bars don't go out. The bushings and links that hold them in place do.

Bushings... Links....

Still parts that go out and frustrate me and my wallet when I have other plans for my money.

$283.38 to fix.

Apparently, they were only able to get the parts from the Stealership. No local parts house had any without back ordering. 2006 truck is considered "too new" to have need for these items.

They did both sides, which is good. Means I won't be back in there in a month or so to get the right side done, as well.

I don't understand...

Maybe the end links needed replacement, but rock auto stocks every single part for our trucks front end, dirt cheap.

The bushings for the bar itself, the end links, everything.

I can see having to do the end links...but the bushings? I have 50k on the truck, and It gets salted to **** every year in the winter, and the bushings look cherry.....

I don't get it.

Depends on the roads you're driving, I tore through a set of bushings within 20k miles, had them changed under warranty. The shop manager at the dealership told me if you're on real rough roads a lot they can wear through pretty quick, said he has to change the bushings on his wife's durango at least once a year. Also don't forget they need to charge him labor too.

There's that neat thing of those that don't have a clue, me and that that do, the shop.

I'd rather let my truck be worked on by someone that knows what they are doing than waste an entire weekend, or longer, scratching parts of my body trying to figure it all out.

Besides, I don't have anyway of doing an alignment on the truck after the parts were installed...
