Really need help...Another 4.7L "shake" question
I just went a range colder on my 4.7l NON HO and it didnt help the slight shake at startup, but I no longer feel it at stoplights and it does feel smoother running.
For your HO, it would be the Autolite 3922's. I would personally try running those and 91/93 octane gas to see what that does for you.

Thanks Rengnath. I don't know if I should keep trying or just give up.
I just spoke to the Sales Manager about an hour ago and pointed out that I've had the truck for one week and they've had it almost 3 weeks with no solution yet and they should consider moving me into another truck.
After discussing it with them and arguing prices for awhile, they offered me all the money back on mine and will sell me a 2009 for $3,600 more on the road. I haven't driven it yet, but the sales manager did and said absolutely no shake (I'll believe it once I drive it). What do you think? Go for it or keep trying to solve the shaking with the 06 (I do like the truck) and save my money? Yeah, I know in the end, it's up to me, just curious what you guys think.
Current Truck: ...........................................New Truck:
2006 SLT extended cab ................................2009 SXT Quad cab
4.7L HO .................................................. ...4.7L (non HO)
Mileage - 32,000 miles ..................................Mileage 32,000 miles
Full Refund ................................................ $3,600 more (all taxes in)
GO WITH THE 09!!!!
IMO, youd be a fool not to. (If you have the means to do so)
You get a quad cab, and the 4.7l in the 2009 has alot more power than your HO did in your 06. If it were me and I could afford the extra $3600, I would do it in a heartbeat.

Go with the 09 if you can afford it, as others have said. But definitely drive it first. The $3,400 more will likely pay for itself in the sense that over the years you could end up putting that much or more into future problems with the 06. With the 09 there hasn't been much time for things to depreciate of for it to have had the **** beat out of it yet.
I didnt scan through the whole thread but i didnt see how much you paid for your 2006. That would be a big determination for me if i decided for a full refund or to add $3,600 more for the 2009. I would scan through the auto trader to see if you couldnt find a better deal on a 2006 or 2009 since you now have a second bite at the apple.
well i would deffently say run higher octane in the truck. now me i get a shake while driving and i been loosing coolant. i now know its a head gasket leak and from what ive looked on the internet we dont have regular head gaskets we now have rubberized things... which is good for a full seal but they can be vibrated to move. and me doing regular driving around then doing 100 every once in a while could of done it.. im sure blown has changed is to something a bet stronger (Hopes) so when i get a chance from work im going to take my truck over and see what they can do. hopefully its jsut the head gasket and they can flush the engine because the yellow slug did show up around my oil cap. and since only number 6 is missfiring as thats only what the computers have said 3 times thats wloud be it. hopefully the warrenty will cover it and while they do that i get a free rental yay! lol just going to suck if they give me another gm....grr... lol last one went back muddy...
Definatley buy the 09 if you can swing it. If not, we have 13 second 2005's around
but it will cost $, lol.
Nope, mine is still stock and has held well. When Travis and I changed out my cams, the valve cover seals still look brand new at 100,500 miles. I say this is due to using Mobil 1 fully synthetic since the day I bought the truck.
