Default Intake Mod

So I have this AirRaid system that was off of my old 2001 Dakota. I thought "I wonder how close this would fit my 2008 Dakota". Well the tube and the brackets don't line up, but then the Redneck in me thought "Hey why not try this" Here are the results enjoy.

After looking at it, the more rational side of me said put it back the way it was and order something like this http://www.automatcentral.com/dodge-dakota-shortram.html

I saw some tubes at AutoZone that I can make work. I was just trying to see if I could use the AirRaid tube I had and have fun in the process.

did you drive it like that? these 08+ engines make a lot of noise through the intake when you get on it, personally i kinda like it and it only does it when close to WOT, when you get a full cai it will be really loud, its kinda of like having a second exhaust system under the hood

I thought about driving it around the block. I did fire it up to see what it sounds like and to see if any warning lights came on. You are right, it is loud

I never had a CAI or heard one until I put one on this truck a couple weeks ago and all I can say is WOW! I havent been able to keep my foot out of it because it sounds so mean. I cant even hear my exhaust note cleary over it.

I wrapped the breather hose around the A/C line just to get it out of the way. I saw the mushroom style breathers at Autozone and thought about picking one up. I picked up a Vacuum/Sensor Adapter kit that has several different size grommets that I can plug the breather hose into and then drill a hole into the tube I pick up.
