"Roxanne" getting down and dirty
So last week a friend of mine (96 Dakota 4x4 v8) and I decided to go mudding. Everything went well, and neither of us got stuck but it sure was a mess afterwards. Heres a pic and video:

This is a video of when we first got started. My friend kept having problems in that one spot. Sorry for the poor video shooting and that it is kinda boring. The puddle that I go through near the end has a gravel bottom and is about 2.5 feet deep at the center. We are both in 2wd during this run:

I finally got the engine bay cleaned today after going through 2 bottles of simple green, and it still isnt perfect. And I had to remove all the coils to get the water out of them. We went through that water several times, and pretty fast and that caused water to get in the fan and blow it all over the engine bay. Im just happy nothing got ruined .... except for my horn that now sounds like a man farting through a trumpet. The bottom of the truck is still caked with a couple inches of mud and thats the weekend project.
Heres another time I took it off the road for a second; it was a corn field that just looked too good to pass up:

I didnt get stuck that time, but I only had the passanger side in the corn field.
The time I did get stuck, I dont have pictures of. That wasnt a good night. The truck bottoms out too easy, and isnt made for going off road. Thanks for looking, and sorry nothing compares to Sullys videos.
I did learn some valuable lessons: mudding is fun but dont go through deep water. The muddy water that drys on to a hot engine doesnt come off easily, and in some cases not at all. I got lucky with my CAI because muddy water was all over the stock box and some was sitting in the bottom. And the hood insulation gets soaked very easily. And lastly; my trucks serves best as a road queen.
