I attempted to once and had trouble removing the lense housing. It was on there pretty good. I did mine on a grand cherokee I had and the aftermarkets came off pretty easy and so did my room mates monte carlo headlights.

Best advice is to bake for 10-15 at 250 degrees in the oven and be cautious and go slow while prying apart. I would use a butter knife and screw driver. That combination worked best for me

I know there is a thread around here somewhere and it was completed successfully, but it looked like a major pain

He used nightshade I believe, they sell it on amazon. I would do that but I'm worried it would be illegal and then I'd have to buy a spare set of lights to put on every year for inspection, or worse, get pulled over and ticketed for illegal lighting. It looks real good, though.

Yeah I night shaded them, two light coats and I also installed fog lights in the grill as well so I am throwing a ton of light at night time.. I am taking a chance at doing them that way but I dont worry about it to much, jkeaton you guys have to get your cars/trucks inspected every year if so that sucks.. Cya Slick

Yeah that's the only thing I would be worried about I would rather take them apart and paint the inside rather then risking losing light and illegal lights

Not me I dont worry much about it, just like tinting the windows, I do what I like and worry about it later.. If I got a ticket for my tinted windows I would take it off pay the ticket and put it right back on I want things the way I want them and you just need to be aware of that ahead of time there is always a price for getting what you want.. yea i have to get inspections here every year like jkeaton and i believe nc is the same as va on what will pass, tinting them definitely fails inspections, thats y im ordering a set of replacement rears at some point before my inspection is up. in my state technically its illegal to have any lights tinted, but its also illegal to not have covers on my brush guard lights, i haven't gotten pulled for my rears and they are DARK!!, if u do a light coat like slick did u prolly won't have a prob with the cops, but u will most likely fail inspection, id say just look into the covers that go over the front lights and save urself the hassle and expense of getting a second set of headlights
