Default power outlets....

Why is that our power outlets for cell phone chargers do not continuie to charge when the truck is not running. My old ranger would charge a cell phone all day long with no stress on the battery... is there a way I can get my 07 to continue charging after its turned off?

Does your truck have a center console with a power outlet inside of the console?

If so, it should be direct power.

If you have the center console, the one inside is always powered.

I agree. On my truck the power outlet inside the center console will charge/power what I have plugged into it even if the truck is not running/on, however the one in the dash will not.

Alright I remembered that I had one in there the other day right after I gave my phone charger to my wife so I have not had a chance to test it but thanks for assuring me...

I think if the one in my console works all the time I'm not gonna sweat changing the other one...

If you don't have the console with the outlet (I don't), there should be a connector under the carpet (center of front seat area below where the console would be) for the center console option. I just removed my carpet recently and found it. I haven't tested for constant power but I assume that harness is for the console option which would include a constant power wire. The reason I mention it is it would save one from having to run new wire if you wanted to install another outlet.
