depends on how you want your truck to ride. I have read on here that the rancho's ride stiffer than the Monroe's. I'm going with the Monroe's on mine, already replaced the rear shocks, I can get the front Monroe's installed for around $450.00. If your doing the fronts yourself make darn sure you use a wall mounted coil spring compressor....

I found my rears for $44 each. and the fronts for $99.89 each. Shock and strut deals come and go like an erection. If you can wait almost every other month you will find deals on them.

Anything under $350 which even then I think is a rip off, you should be ok.

I have the Rancho's and they are ok. Better than stock YES.
I have not tried Monroe but I have heard they are also better than stock

yeah i mean i'm just getting ideas! when i left i had 45K on it but when i get back god knows how many miles my dad who (loves) my truck will have put on it. So i know i will have to do shocks and more then likely brakes! But i've been getting some good ideas fromguys on here. Like i saw a dakota can't remember his name but its a Red Dakota with Rims and A Lightfoot Bull Bar with lights and a leveling kit. I was like uhm yeahp doig it cause it looks hot it really does! So really just being new to this site has made me be like a rich man at a store, just looking around saying "I want that, that, that oh that looks good, that, that" lol but i'm in Korea so i mean money is being saved to get this stuff when i come back home in about 4 months! can't wait to be back and have my baby looking good and back into good care where she wont go 15K on a single synthetic oil change...Thanks dad! lol

OK, $450 for front Ranchos installed is CRAZY high..
Do you have a Pep Boys near you? They want $125 for each front shock, 8.95 for the HW kit, and 18.00 to install it (yes, ONE-EIGHT).
I have it in writing

Oh, Monroes were $25 less...!

On a side note...I put thr RS5000s on the rear, the factory ones (80K on them) were WAY stiffer than the Ranchos..it rides much nicer with these on it.

The factory shocks felt like they were spring loaded..!

rancho are more expensive and i have heard stiffer than monroes, which are not as stiff as factory on the rear, don't know about the front. All I know is either one is way better than factory. Depends on your budget really.

I just called pep boys and they quoted me $430.03 for the monroe sensa-trac struts installed? You sure that price ($18.00) was for struts and not shocks?
