Question HELP: gauges or sender?

Hello. new to the forums and also new to Dodge.
I have bought an 07 dakota crew 3.7V6.

my gas light will not come on even when the guage is in the 'red zone' and pointing at 'E'. manual says I have an 83L tank, but have not put more than 69-70 litres in it, and I dont wanna run it empty to test it. the light does illuminate at startup. I have noticed it will move a bit, but nothing significant.

also my temp gauge does not sit in the middle, it sits a bit lower. hooked it up to a MAC code reader and it says the temp is 89c which I believe is normal.

so my questions are: is there an ongoing issue with gauges? or should I check out my fuel sender? and I'm not sure how to test that.

any help is appreciated, thanks!!!
