Has anyone heard that the 2" leveling kits for 2005+ 4x4 Dak's can cause binding on the cv's?
I was down at 4 wheel parts on saturday and a couple guys who work there were adamant about the fact that the cv's will bind... thoughts, comments???

 

the cv's wont bind with a leveling kit, but they will be at a little bit more of an angle and gives the possibilty of wearing faster, but there hasnt been to many complaints

 

I got the daystar leveling from and installed by 4wheel parts and no problems so far. I had installed a more than a year ago !! They did tell me that the trail master was better than the daystar but i did not had the $200.00 and something for the trail master and i wanted the truck leveled. But i will get the trail master in a later date! But like i said, no problems with the daystar and i got the factory struts w/ 34k on and bigger wheels and tires..

 

no problem yet with 2,5

 

What do you guys think about this kit? Install is pretty easy for a leveling kit right? I installed new front shocks this year so that should be pretty simple compared to this?

I got a couple PM's stating the opposite of the responses....
I'm not going to do the body lift as I'm way too abusive off road, but i need to get it up some cause she drags and it drives me nuts, i feel like a grandma running the desert.......... Gotta get this motor finished on the RAM......

i've gotten the same type of answers. some no problems, some all kinds of problems so I'm not sure about the leveling kit either. Wonder if the negatives are from guys who beat their trucks? Mine's a mostly daily driver with some light offroading on weekends while going camping/fishing/hunting....

 

Well i did the rough country leveling kit w/ blocks in the rear on my 4x4 and though there are a few clicks w/ the rancho struts and it seems like the front end might fall apart when i hit separation points on the freeway...it has held together on and off road very well (surprisingly). I have hit mud pits, sand, football and basketball sized rocks going up some mountains in 4-low and i haven't broken anything yet (except for the steering link which I broke during the install of the kit).

 

I've got the Trail Master TM leveling kit in my truck. I have no binding issues to speak of.
Mostly road and hwy driving for me, but I do get off the paved quite a bit as well. Mostly really Ruff Oilfield access roads and FSR roads.


I've also noticed the clicks from the Rancho Struts when turning the truck, doesn't sound good. but everything is tight and in place still, so not sure what's up with the clicking.

 

I also have the TM kit, haven't had any problems as of yet. Monkeywrench4000 knows a lot about these kits, hopefully he'll chime in.
