Default Battery??? 2005

Who has replaced their battery?

I went over to Autocra$p and did a search for batteries for my truck

2005
Dodge
Dakota
V8 non ho
4x4

It came up with 8 choices (all 8 are wrong size)

The only Battery that I found to be an exact match in dimensions is a
65-DLG (Duralast gold 65) (cca 850)

Stock is (cca 600)

Has anyone else found that it was difficult to find a exact aftermarket battery using the battery search? If so what battery did you replace your with?

On a side note the 65-DLG works just fine. (PERFECT FIT)
After spending 2 hours at auto zone going through every battery in the place. I finally pissed off the manager who thought he wrote a college thesis on batteries, he started giving me lip, I gave him lip back.
I told him that he doesn't have to listen to what the computer says.
He got so pissed that he said that he is sick of customers telling him he is wrong, and got up and left saying he quit.

Autozone will be getting a letter of complaint from me asking for a discount, for the $hitty service I received.

That is one thing I HATE about auto parts stores. Its happened when I went to get plugs, an intake, gaskets, and just about everything. They always need your year make and model to plug in the the computer even if you have a part number. I guess most people dont come prepared to the auto store to get a part. I always do so I get the best price.

For a battery, I got a Duralast Gold from Autozone. It wasnt an OE fit. I had to use the plastic adapter it came with, and that was a piece. I fiddled with it for an hour because a peice on it kept snapping out of place. I think I actually broke it the time I got it to stay, but the battery is still where it belongs so Im happy.

Sears Platinum is nearly a perfect fit. I fabbed a piece of 3/4" angle into a hold-down and it's good to go. I think it's 880 cca.

I looked on autozone's website and got an optima yellowtop. Some say they aren't as good as they used to be but I'm running heavy sound, extra lights, and an E-fan with no issues. Everything works better actually. But those are high end, if you just want a replacement, go to NAPA, they will hook you up.
