Long story short, the VSS started acting up...would throw a CEL randomly and go away, then dash just gave up. No odo, speedo, and the ABS is hosed.

Problem is, I think it might have taken the tranny with it. Dealer is telling me that these aren't under the drivetrain warranty? Excuse me? isn't this the part of the car that IS the drivetrain, and oh yeah, the VSS is the part that keeps track of how many miles are on the vehicle to figure out the warranty?

Waiting for the dealer to call me back with the "Estimate"...first guy I talked to said no problem, covered under powertrain...then I get to dealership and it's a whole 'nother story.

Any recommendations?

Oh yeah ....2005 4 door Magnum with about 42k on it.

I have the power train warranty on mine as well. I think they told me it only covers the engine, transmission and rear end. The speedo and ABS would not be covered under the power train warranty as far as I know.

It's not the actual guages - it's the VSS, which happens to be a part of the transmission. I'm just really frustrated at this point. I've had nothing but problems with this truck from about mile 13, and the dealers are useless around here for fixing things. If it doesn't throw a code, there's nothing wrong according to these guys.

Call Chrysler direct on this or at least talk to other Dodge dealers (field the situation).
I have less then a year of payments and this thing is so out of here. I understand your frustrations and believe me they only get worse with each mile.

First dodge for me in 2005 QC 4.7L SLT. I'm not impressed either, alot of issues. All the other American made vehicles I have exhibit very little problems untill well over 100K miles. I will not be a return customer either! It's a real shame too what a great vehicle if only it held up.
