Looking to buy, have a question

popsnbeer I'm definitely interested. I'm In Wickenburg, 40 miles Northwest of Phoenix. I have to go out of town this weekend, expect to be back sometime Monday. 928-684-0128 If you'll shoot me an email with your phone number and address, lets see what we can work out.
My Tracker is working great, hardly ever use it tho, mostly just to pull a utility trailer around my property moving dirt and such. Interested it it?
Looking forward to hearing from you, Ed McMeans
(What color is your truck?)

I got my 05 couple of months ago and paid 12700$ I love the truck its in excellent conditions v8 4x4 4 door slt with 35k miles. after driving it for a while I love my truck but I would not pay 15-17k for it. in that case I would go for a full size or tacoma or frontier. the DAKs ride quality is subpar, and its slow! the reason I went with the dak is because I coulnt see myself paying over 16k for a 5 year old truck. but if thats not a problem with you then I would DEF get the tacoma or frontier. btw those blue book values or not worth anything! take your dak and try to trade it in and see if they would give you anywhere near what the blue book says. good luck and lets us know what you get

I honestly would look as far away from the 2005's as you can. No offense to some of the other guys on the forum, but there seems to be a large and growing percentage of us with the early gen3's that have nothing but problems.
What are you looking to tow? (weight wise?) The Dak's got a decent towing rating, but I can't say that it's very good at it. I've got a 21foot ski boat that weighs about 3500#'s on the trailer that I tow around but have switched from using the dakota to using the expedition. The X doesn't know it's there, the dak labors up and down hills and burns brakes, even with the 4.7.
For $16K, I'd look more towards the Ram1500, or at least a dak that is in the 2007 or 2008 range.

I will say this. I bought my 05 brand new off the lot and I've ran it hard. Travis can tell you I WOT constantly and I've been pushing 12-14 psi on a stock block with 206 cams (now 224) for over two years without a single problem until blowing a head gasket at over 100,000 miles. That is nothing if you know how to change it. I conduct all of my own maintenance and I run nothing but synthetic fluids.
Before this truck I had a 2002 Tacoma and I will never go back down that road. Great trucks are built, not bought.
