trucky-

Lovin your rig. that thing sounds mean. I have an HO motor already...does it have a beefer cam than just the magnum? i think that was the major difference from the factory. would I have to have a tune if I wanted to get a 224 cam as well? I dont have headers (I live in ca, not sure on the rules) I have a 50 series flow dumped before the axle. Seems to be just right...gets loud when i want it to but a low rumble at idle.

224 cams for our trucks are for nitrous, superchared and turboed application only. You can get a safe tune with 224 cams on a N/A 4.7L but you won't get the benefit as you would out of a 212X.

Cams available
HO
206
212
212X
224

Here is the difference between HO and standard 4.7L

What Travis and Eric Said.

HO cams don't require special tuning.
206 cams will benefit from but don't require special tuning.
212, 212X require lash caps, custom tuning and High Load springs if you plan on RPMs over 6000.
224s require lash caps, custom tuning, HO springs for high rpms and boost.
