Default engine swap question

not that i'm gonna do this but i was just curious what it would take to do an engine swap from the old 4.7 to the new 4.7. Doesn't seem like it would be to difficult and if you could find a pretty new engine in a junk yard for a decent price it could be a pretty worth while upgrade. Plus you could recoup a little bit of you money back from your old engine. just a thought.

i think if you wanted to do it, the best way would be to swap the entire top end, i believe the bottom end is all the same, but i guess the pistons could be different, due to the heads, but you can get an adapter to run the cable operated TB and there is still only 8 coils, they just run two plugs each, and who knows they may have the same connections and possibly beable to run the entire pre 08 wiring, looks like we need to do some comparisons

The PCM on the new 4.7 is not supported by our engine or SCT tuning.
