Question Is my power wire broke?

I was playing with my data logger (Dash Dyno) tonight. I have the power wire installed. I was monitoring ambient air temp and IAT air temp. For the most part they were 6-10 degrees different on the highway, but setting in the driveway they were about the same? With the power wire installed shouldnt my IAT temp be roughly ten degrees cooler all the time?

The power wire should make you IAT read 20 degrees cooler. You have to look at the temps at a cold start up. The problem with comparing those 2 sensors is the engine heat will throw them off. My IAT actually reads the same as the ambient temp with a hot engine because the engine heats the IAT sensor about 20 degrees warmer with a hot engine. If I look at the temps before I start the engine, the IAT is about 25 degrees cooler than the ambient air temp. Thinking about it, it actually seems like the power wire is useless, but it isnt because without it, your IAT would be reading 20 degrees warmer than the ambient air temp with a hot engine.

It was hard to say for me. It only makes a difference at WOT, and it seemed to roar a little more under WOT. For 99 cents, I figured if it really did give 10rwhp, it was really worth it. If it didnt, then all I was out was 99 cents.

i just did mine, and honestly it feel like it picks up a little bit better, but it's really hard to say for sure when your expecting it.

I'm gonna try to go up to the local strip and run it with/without the power wire and see what happens.

rengnath, I am still showing only about 10-12 deg cooler at startup. This was tonight at 11pm after truck had set for 8-9hrs. I used a 4.7k ohm 1/4 watt 5% tolerance resistor. Do you know what wattage resistor you used? Every post I saw did not mention the wattage only 4.7k.

Thats what I have. They came in a 5 pack from Radio Shack for 99 cents. Did you put it on the right wire? Green with the black stripe I believe.
