I hope to get 50k out of 'em, so far about 12k on 'em and there is minimal wear. I've been a Mickey Thompson/Dick Cepek guy for over 15 years now and have gotten a TON of mileage out of 'em, but I couldn't get into the Mickey ATZs I wanted on the GC for under $200 a pop and money is tight lately so at $80 less PER TIRE I decided to give the Nittos a shot...

Had 68k on a set of Mickey MTXs on my 2nd Gen Ram when I traded it and they had a good 15k left in 'em. Current Cepek FCIIs on my Ram have 30k on 'em and ain't down 10% yet...

Yea I was thinking with the 265/70/16. I am just looking for anything that is a good tire for rain/snow/ice that yet isn't a winter tire.

I like the looks of All Terrain tires with big tread, but wondering if they would be good for winter conditions.

I have had 2 winter seasons with these stock tires and my truck worked extremely well in the snow. So I am assuming these stock tires are definately not the best because they look kinda horrible tread wise. So I would assume something newer and better would even give better results in snow.

Yes, I am from Canada. Eh.

The michelin LTX-2's are great in the snow at work we use them on our F-250 plow truck and have never got stuck. The bfg ta ko's are good too i see people getting 60 to 70k out of them but ive also heard there not all that great in the snow. Also look into the goodyear wrangler duratracs they are great in the snow and mud but might cost you a few extra bucks.

.

yes they work great in the snow! they are meant for anything and everything...last winter in VA we had a total of 72" of snow in a 3 day period! and when i was home me and my dad drove that truck everywhere and i didn't even need 4X4! so they are worth it worth every penny! and if you look at my pictures those are the BFG ALL TERRAINS! so that'll give you a view on how they will look! plus a better ride too!

I love my Coopers. So far I have mainly used them on the Hiway and they are pretty loud (But hey, that's what Stereo's are for ). With the kids doing more snowboarding, I plan a couple more trips up to the snow this winter.

I just hope the (CHP) won't make me put chains on since the truck is a 2WD

I have the Cooper Zeon LTZ tires LT265/70/17. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE TIRES. I had to get one replaced when it was new because it was so out-of-round. In addition, the rest of them were not all that great either. After road force balancing the tires 8 TIMES (with the proper dodge specified collars), I finally said F-it, pulled all the weights and put 6 ounces of Dyna-Beads in each tire. God bless Dyna Beads. You also have to constantly rotate them or they get really noisy. I should mention that my front end is full of new parts, and alignment triple checked.

I should also mention that a friend of mine has had two sets of them on his RAM with 20" wheels, and loves them. Maybe I'm just un-lucky.....maybe the problem is just with the 17" tires....maybe the 17" wheels are **** and part of the problem. Maybe 10-ply tires on these trucks are a bad match. I don't know, but my experiance should be noted.

I've had no issues with my Cooper LTZ's. I'm going with with Nitto Terra Grapplers for the winter on my 16's.

You might have hit the proverbial nail right on the head, I got a buddy who put a set of "E" rated, heavy ply tires on his Tacoma and never could get the things balanced, the things started cupping on him and he pulled 'em after only 12,000 miles. Replaced them with a set of Kuhmo something or others and never had a problem with them...

Ok I am gonna look into the BFG All Terrains and the Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs. There is a small shop in my town that has a good reputation for selling tires so hopefully they have atleast one of those.

Other than that I saw Fountain Tire has GOODYEAR WRANGLER SILENT ARMOR. I was thinking of buying these last year but thought I would wait another year. The bill for those would just be under $1200. Ouch. I rember last year around this time they did a 3 for 4 deal and it was about 900. So I will wait and see what promotions come up.

I don't know how the Silent Armor would compare to the other two, but I guess it depends on which shop has what and how much is what.
