Default E-Fan...On or Not

With Blown's help I recently installed an HHR e-fan in my '05. It works great. However, I would sure like to know when the fan is working, (I know, look at the temp. guage). Not much electrical knowledge here but...Is it possible to hook up a wire to the + wire from the fan running to an LED light that would illuminate when the fan got power?? Hope I worded this so it's understandable.

Yup, you got it. You would need to hook up the LED w/ an appropriate relay (i believe) that you wire into somewhere in your truck. any auto shop (oreilly, autozone, napa, etc.) will have the stuff you need. it shouldn't cost you more than $5-$10 to do everything.

I'm sure others will chime in with what you would need to do exactly.

You can also put a light in the cab and tap a wire into the main power wire for the fan. Every time the fan receives the signal to turn on the light will activate.

You may find this helpful too if you're going this route: http://www.ohmslawcalculator.com/led...calculator.php
