all i can say and take it from the canadian(no im not an expert driver but do a lot of winter driving) ...if you need to worry about 4x4 on your daily drive due to road conditions you shouldnt be worrying about how fast you can go, keep the speed reasonable. if theres ice SLOW DOWN!!!!!!! i spend a fair amount of time puillig Rtards (no offense) outta the ditch in the winter, cause they think 4x4 is gonna help them gain traction.. all its gonna do is help you accelerate its not gonna keep you between the lines.... and most certainly WILL NOT help you stop. your just gonna end up with bigger problems. if you wanna do 100km/h go ahead buuut if you must know i usually wont take it over 75km/h in 4hi on GOOD winter highways and thats cause i need to use 4x4....ive had a couple of scary moments where i had 4x4 turned on and i was only traveling at 40km/h.... the truck just went side ways on me, no gas, no brake, just gone..... BE SENSIBLE, sorry to rant. i just see so many stupid accidents 4x4/AWD related cause people think its gonna save them....... safe winter travels and keep er shiny side up

X2. You wouldn't believe how many people end up in the ditch here in NY during the winter. Mostly women (not harm intended) with kids! oh well looks like I can make more money this season pulling people out!

75km/h isn't overly fastim guessing around the 40mphmark and considering the average highway speed limit around Alberta is 110km/h (around 70mph) sad thing is you get a lot of 4x4tjat think they can still do that on ice

Trust me, I know all about that. When I've done those speeds on 4x4 it wasn't technically needed but was used just as a precaution, I drive only as fast as conditions will safely allow. This was at 25mph:
