Default Front end squeek (any thoughts appreciated)

Well about two weeks ago, my front end on the left side started squeeking a little bit as I would turn both ways and if the front end was compressed downward. It sounds as if it is a noise that would be caused from a boot or joint that is low on grease or worn out. My upper control arm ball joint was busted, so I replaced the UC arm and ball joint thinking it might be it. I also went ahead and replaced my outer tie rod end because it was shot. This did not help the problem. I can't isolate the noise to the exact point, so I am wondering if any of you all might have an idea. Any thoughts are appreciated.

When my truck had bad lower ball joints, it would make a dry low-pitched squeek. (Thats the best way I can describe it) When I got under the truck to see where it was coming from, it sounded like it was coming from the bottom of the strut, and no lubricant that I sprayed would silence the squeek. It would also creak pulling away from stops, since the ball was actually loose in the socket.

Yeah this is popping up a lot lately.... WD 40 helped but I would rather have isolated the problem like Eric mentioned. It is only a temporary solution. Check out that suspension thread.

I tried isolating the noise with a buddy turning the wheel and also pushing up and down on it before, but I couldn't. Also, would it help in diagnosing that the noise goes away once that side is lifted off the ground and there is no pressure on that side of the truck, because it does go away once raised up.

WD-40 is not a lubricant... it's almost the exact opposite. WD-40 is a pentrating oil...for breaking nuts loose off rusty bolts, breaking rusted hinges and locks loose, etc. For example, if someone was going to be replacing there struts, the night before they would want to spray down all the nuts/bolts that are going to be removed the next day. This way, they will break loose easily, in case they are rusted over. It really should never be used to stop noises.

WD-40 will actually REMOVE lubricants, and thats why it is only a temporary fix. For greasing, an automotive grease should be used, one that is safe for rubber busings, etc.

As far as this problem goes... I would disconnect the sway bar end links from the bottom, swing the bar up with the links attached and see if the noise is gone. If it is, start with the bushings, then the end links. Easiest thing to start with and cancel out.
